FOR OVER 2 YEARS, I WAS THE CLINICAL INJECTOR PROVIDING THERAPEUTIC BOTOX INJECTIONS FOR MIGRAINE PATIENTS AT THE RED DEER NEUROLOGY Migraine CLINIC for the chief of neurology.

… On a farm where I grew up competing on the Equestrian horse show circuit and working oilfield construction during the summers. My mentor was my mother who was fiercely driven and who inspired change in our community.

My curiosity of human physiology and helping people is what drove me into the health sciences.  After graduating from the University of Alberta, I worked at the inner city Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and the Cross Cancer Institute.

I moved to beautiful Lacombe to provide my kids the opportunity of a French immersion program while fulfilling my desire to continue practicing “Big City” medicine at the Red Deer Hospital and still be true to my rural roots.

My story began in a small town…

Here, I provided optimal migraine treatment while conducting patient assessments and med reviews in collaboration with the neurologist. I also had the opportunity to aid in training Physicians on effective migraine treatment using Botox injections. Providing relief to migraine sufferers and the fulfillment of hands-on medicine are what motivated me to continue advancement in the field of aesthetic injections and cosmetic fillers.

I continue to work clinically in the hospital part time for cardiology and medical specialty clinics, while advancing my private medical aesthetic practise.  The balance of both worlds helps me provide comprehensive skin rejuvenation services to my clients while being empathetic to their overall health.  I am ever advancing my education to provide the safest treatment and leading edge techniques to achieve the outcomes clients desire.

Continuing to expand my expertise in injections, IV therapy and hands on patient care, I am challenging the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Red Deer Polytechnic.  Quite honestly, everyone thinks I'm a nurse already and I take that as a compliment, Nurses are way more fun!

We are proud to call Lacombe home with its strong sense of community, the arts, the foodie scene, and supporting local businesses. I am thankful to live in such a beautiful town where you can find me taking it all in with Maggie, our family Bernese Mountain Dog.

I am an LPN in the NICU and a Canaidan Certified Nurse Educator with a passion for empowering wo(men) to feel confident and radiant both inside and out.  An exciting and wonderful chapter has begun and to my delight Shanna took a chance on me!!!

Hi there, I’M CONNIE!

I grew up in a small lake community in Central Alberta. I was so fortunate to grow up in a home that sacrificed and strived to always put our family unit first. One set of my grandparents lived in our home with us and my other grandmother lived right across the gravel road. This gave me such an amazing multigenerational support system. Because of this and my involvement in competitive martial arts (Judo) I was able to foster an unwavering confidence and belief that I could make a difference in the world, and that's exactly what I set out to do.

After finding my best friend and partner we got married, moved to our farm and began our family right off the bat. I was so excited to be a mom, it is my greatest work and my true calling. As they grew older I discovered I still had a lot to give and decided to go back to school to be a nurse (which had always been a dream of mine). I wanted to help people.

I attended RDC’s Practical Nurse program and obtained my LPN credentia (2013). Upon finishing the program I landed my dream job in the NICU and still work there today (2013-2025). While I was in school I watched my instructors closely and discovered there was a whole world of nursing I hadn’t known about and that was in nursing education.I mentioned to one of my instructors that one day I would love to come back and teach alongside her in the nursing program.I thought to myself how can I make a bigger impact? I discovered that I could create a bigger footprint by empowering 70 new nurses to be change agents every year. I am a strong believer that if you want something you have to put it out into the universe. I was thrilled to receive a phone call from her one quiet Thursday afternoon stating they were looking for a clinical instructor. I jumped in with both feet and found myself a rewarding and amazing career as a nurse educator (2014-2023). I obtained my CCNE (Canadian Certified Nurse Educator)(2021) credential and helped plan and run regional nursing education in our rural communities (Ponoka, Stettler, Rocky Mountain House and Dumheller)as well as on main camps in Red Deer. I was able to meet and work alongside so many incredible students, educators and nurses through that time. I discovered I have a deep passion for lifelong learning.

As I sat down at my scheduled botox appointment and began visiting with Shanna I had no idea an exciting and wonderful chapter was about to begin (2024). We were chatting about the nursing program and the changes in the Pharmacist scope and she said “I need a nurse” to which I replied “I’m a nurse”.

After developing a life changing medical condition (CES 2023), I was looking at my future through a completely different lens. I was going to slow down and take this beautiful life in. Self care became a big part of that for me.

Again that’s me putting it out to the universe in hopes of embracing what's meant to be. To my delight Shanna took a chance on me!!! I immediately began taking education courses, shadowing her in her clinic, eating, sleeping, breathing all things medical aesthetics. The more I dug into it the more interesting it became. I can’t get enough and with that a new passion was born. I have found a new way to help people all while learning and growing my skill set as a nurse. I am so excited for what this journey will hold, and look forward to conquering this new chapter with the same strive for excellence I have attacked my past endeavors with, I look forward to being the best I can be.

I have been married to my best friend for the last 25 years, I am a mother to three incredible humans, One amazing son-in-law and a Nana to my first little granddaughter just this past year.
